Fog City
While in San Francisco,
I expect to make a pilgrimage
City Lights Bookstore.
It's importance in American poetry
cannot be exaggerated.
Its poetry readings were legendary
in the 1950's and 1960’s.
Alan Ginsburg,
Jack Kerouac,
Lawrence Ferlinghetti,
Michael McClure,
Gary Snyder,
howled there.
Later, Bob Dylan,
Jefferson Airplane,
the Grateful Dead,
were psychedelia
to musical children
of flowers.
