Even with massive subsidies from government, all the electric bus companies are going bankrupt.

Toxic tailpipe emissions from diesels? Today's diesel buses have emission controls on their exhaust, and a catalyst tank (DEF) to further reduce emissions. They don't present a "toxic" threat to school children. Most bus drivers also turn off their engines while waiting to pick up students and start them only when it's time to leave. The dangers inherent in electric buses such as loss of power and control without warning during a route are notorious. Propane powered buses primarily make up the new school buses. Emissions from school buses are a non-problem.
