What is creepier than putting your money in an investment fund and having the fund managers use it to vote for ESG policies you disagree with. Or they take your money, forget their fiduciary duty, and instead invest your money to save the planet and giving you a lousy return. ESG investing that blackballs an industry is a textbook example of anti-trust and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. The linkage of large companies and big banks to a specific political agenda is characteristic of fascism. It is incredibly dangerous and undermines the basis for free market capitalism. Unless the investor explicitly signs off on ESG investing, it should be explicitly illegal, a type of financial fraud. If you want the government to outlaw gasoline, you need to do it directly through the representative democratic process.
