Poem of Climate Lessons
The Earth will warm
no doubt of many things
Greenhouse Gasbags
Energy Flat-landers
Political Scientists
Clueless Politicians
among them
Trendy energy wisdom
will fracture
like shale
stale truths
Balance and fairness shall reign
netlike over schools
of advanced thought
like a monarch
Media will survive its absence
Universities your Q&A
masquerading as lectures
But Poetry
like energy
can neither be
created or destroyed
It exists
Like long Dayton’s journey into Night
like the Equine Visage of the Heedless Horseman
Galloping from civilization
to the glacial shores of Lake Michigan
with no direction home
Like the Sisyphusian task
of moving light weights
from one side of the garage
to the other
It persists
Let it
And let apolitical science
live again
