Nowadays, while I’m listening to storms inside my nice, sheltered existence, in my head Thomas Hobbes’s descriptions of man’s precivilizational life: “Solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short.”
I must admit that your post made me stop and reflect on my own behaviour. Yes, there is a lot of hypocrisy in my stance with climate change and my responses to it as an individual. The problem though is that the whole situation is so complex that it is beyond the comprehension of even the most intelligent of us. It's much like the story of the blind men confronting an elephant for the first time and making conclusions based on the part they touched. I am completely at a loss in this situation.
