If Chinese EV manufacturers were allowed to build assembly plants in the US, or even better to import freely, the story would be substantially different. Why better, because Taiwanese Semi Conductor Manufacturers have built in Arizona and thanks to excessive regulation the chips cost twice as much as the home grown product. No I don't say that Chinese EVs would take over the car market completely because even in China, demand and market share were dropping before the BBB mashed the economy.
