The article seems to be more greenwashing of solar. Considerable solar generation in California's Mojave Desert lacks significant annual rainfall. Instead, solar installations destroy the so-called "desert varnish" that stabilizes the soil below. The result is dust during windstorms. Native plants are challenged in such environments. Native fauna such as desert tortoises are reduced to skeletal remains.
