Some people. They can't put it together that practically all components that go into a Big Green energy transition come from many gigantic holes in the Earth, sometimes an entire mountain, to provide the raw materials for solar panels and wind turbines (and nuclear and hydro, etc.). These holes are made by giant mining machines that typically use a tremendous amount of diesel fuel, which, of course, is produced by Big Oil from fossil fuels. Practically all mines are depleting their resources as fast as economically possible and are currently, and considerably, lagging demand. Severely. I don't get the feeling that the End Fossil Fuel crowd is a pro-mining crowd. I do get the feeling that they believe "solar farms" are fields sown with sun-seeds and "wind farms" are plantations grown from magic beans. Just the wordage using "-farms" is ludicrous. Who could get away with using terms like "oil farm" or "coal farm"?
