A lot of the people who blast us for our AC are europhiles and Europeans themselves. They don’t think much of our air conditioning and argue that we shouldn’t rely on it
It's hot in Rome in the summer and a lot of hotels don't have AC, so I booked at the Hyatt Regency Crowne Plaza Royal Deluxe Palazzo because it had AC. I was given a magnificent room. When it was bedtime, there was no AC. I called the desk and was told that the hotel turned off the AC at night.

I've experienced the same thing in Greece at many hotels.
Oh, and don't get started on ice cubes....
I live in the Bahamas which is tropical in the summer. I sleep well at night thanks to the miracle of AC.
But suffering for climate and nature is so noble!
